Frequently Asked QuestionsWill the PCGamerBike work with my existing gaming setup? Answer: Yes. To Windows®, the PCGamerBike looks like an additional keyboard and mouse. Windows supports multiple keyboards and mice at the same time. When you pedal the bike, your game sees key presses. It doesn't know or even care where they come from. You can use the keyboard and the PCGamerBike at the same time to control your character.
I'd like to use a steering wheel with the PCGamerBike. What are the requirements for using additional peripherals with the PCGamerBike in a game? Answer: The PCGamerBike works with all peripherals. The only requirement is that your game supports the use of the keyboard and your peripheral at the same time. For instance, if you can use your keyboard to move forwards and in backwards, while using the steering wheel, then the PCGamerBike will work fine with it. Some older racing games do not let you use a keyboard and gamepad at the same time. You can get around this by using configurable game controllers.
Do I have to unplug the bike to use it when not playing games? Answer: You could, but you don't have to. With a couple of mouse clicks you can disable the keyboard mapping and use the bike any time. The advantage to leaving it plugged in, is that the PCGamerBike software can continue to log your workout statistics.
Will the PCGamerBike work on a Mac or a Linux system? Answer: Yes, but the software that you use to configure the bike and to view your exercise history has only been written for Windows. The bike is initially configured to press the Up-Arrow key when you pedal forward and the Down-Arrow key when you pedal backwards. You would have to hook it up to a PC to change these settings.
Q. Does the PCGamerBike work with the Xbox 360, the Wii or the PS3? Answer: Unfortunately not. However we are developing a module for the XRGameKit that will support these game systems. The XRGameKit can be used with the PCGamerBike and any other exercise bike.
What is the difference between the MagneTrainer and the PCGamerBike? Answer: Mechanically they are the same bike. The difference is that the PCGamerBike has built-in electronics that enables the bike to interact with PC games. You can use the optional MagneTrainer PC interface to interact with driving and racing games. The PCGamerBike has the ability to make your character go backwards by pedaling backwards. The MagneTrainer does not. The PCGamerBike has much quicker response to pedal motion and can be used in First Person games and in Role playing games.
